Taking a Stand for HIV Prevention: Women in Imo State Step Forward

On 15 July 2023, the Caritas Nigeria Imo state team, through the support of UNAIDS and carried out a sensitization awareness campaign for pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers of the Faith-based Approach to Increase Identification and Treatment of HIV+ children. A Closer Look at the Community Outreach Hosted by the ACCESS Project

In promoting the goal of the Accelerated Control of HIV Epidemic and Sustainability Solutions ACCESS Project, funded by The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through CDC, the Justice, Development, Peace and Caritas Commission Owerri Archdiocese in partnership with Caritas Nigeria hosted a community outreach on the 15 July 2023 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Naze community of Imo state.

To effectively achieve the goal of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and CDC HIV intervention in Nigeria, Caritas Nigeria collaborates with community-based organizations to enhance HIV testing services across the three regions of Abia, Enugu, and Imo, where Caritas Nigeria currently implements the United States Government-funded Accelerated Control of HIV Epidemic and Sustainability Solutions (ACCESS) project.
