Caritas Nigeria responds to humanitarian crises promptly and urgently to save lives, alleviate suffering, protect the vulnerable and strengthen community resilience against future disasters. For 14 years, we have partnered with community-based organizations, multilateral organizations, traditional and religious institutions, corporate organizations, government humanitarian actors, and philanthropists to provide humanitarian aid to vulnerable persons and households in a dignified, gender-sensitive, participatory and accountable manner across Nigeria.
Through multi-pronged interventions, such as food security and livelihoods initiatives, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) services, nutritional support, health, protection, education, shelter, psychosocial support, economic strengthening interventions, and resilience/social cohesion, Caritas Nigeria has improved the well-being of people in conflict-affected zones together with their host communities by addressing malnutrition among infants, children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers; boosted households’ food consumption scores; and implemented impactful household economic strengthening initiatives.
