Tracking Progress and Achievements: Caritas Nigeria’s OVC Interventions in Enugu State

Share:

Earlier today, Community-based Organizations (CBO) implementing Caritas Nigeria‘s Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s (OVC) interventions in Enugu State met with our team working in the state, to track the project’s progress and achievements for quarter 3, with a view to improving on performance in subsequent quarters.
Strategically implemented under the ACCESS (Accelerated Control of HIV Epidemic and Sustainability Solutions) project, which is funded by The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through CDC, the OVC interventions are designed to enhance health, psychosocial, and economic outcomes for HIV-infected or HIV-affected children and adolescents together with their households.

At the OVC Program Review meeting, partners addressed issues of data presentation/feedback. The team also assessed the Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA), documentation of success stories on the ACCESS project, and OVC Lite entries made into the National OVC Management Information System (NOMIS) software.

In attendance were representatives of the Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) of Nsukka Diocese, the Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) Enugu Diocese, African Network for the Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN), Global Health Awareness and Research Foundation (GHARF), Twinning, Catholic Relief Services, the State Ministry of Gender Affairs & Social Development, and the Ministry of Health.
