To effectively achieve the goal of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and CDC HIV intervention in Nigeria, Caritas Nigeria collaborates with community-based organizations to enhance HIV testing services across the three regions of Abia, Enugu, and Imo, where Caritas Nigeria currently implements the United States Government-funded Accelerated Control of HIV Epidemic and Sustainability Solutions (ACCESS) project.
Seeking to strengthen the joint HIV response in the states, Caritas Nigeria is currently hosting a partners’ forum with the CBOs, with a view to improving strategies of case identification, accurate documentation, and prompt referrals. The two-day meeting held in our country office in Abuja has the CBOs presenting their structures, strengths, challenges, and efforts toward combating new HIV infections in their communities.
