Call for Entries: Climate-Smart Youth Essay Contest on Laudato Si and Environmental Management

Ahead of the Caritas Nigeria Day international conference on ‘Mainstreaming Climate-smart Principles and Practices amongst Faith-based Communities in Nigeria’, we are pleased to invite young Nigerians passionate about climate change to demonstrate how well they know about Pope Francis’ Laudato Si and environmental management. Submission of essays ends on 15 September 2023.  

PEPFAR-funded ACCESS Project trains SIAs on Advanced HIV Disease management

On Wednesday, 23rd August 2023 the Caritas Nigeria team in Enugu state implemented the Accelerated Control of HIV Epidemic and Sustainability Solutions (ACCESS) Project, funded by The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through CDC held a one-day intensive training for 24 Strategic Information Assistants (SIAs) on Advanced HIV Disease (AHD) on the algorithm for CD4 testing and how to manage clients with meningitis.

Families Matter Program: Empowering Parents and Caregivers for Positive Parenting and Safer Environments

Caritas Nigeria Orphans and Vulnerable Children program in Abia and Imo States recently hosted a graduation ceremony for 65 participants (Parents and Caregivers) as part of the Families Matter Program (FMP) on 9 August 2023. Funded by CDC through Caritas Nigeria and South Saharan Social Development Organization, this initiative focuses on evidence-based interventions for positive parenting and open parent-child conversations about sexuality, risk reduction, and gender-based violence.
