On Wednesday, 23rd August 2023 the Caritas Nigeria team in Enugu state implemented the Accelerated Control of HIV Epidemic and Sustainability Solutions (ACCESS) Project, funded by The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through CDC held a one-day intensive training for 24 Strategic Information Assistants (SIAs) on Advanced HIV Disease (AHD) on the algorithm for CD4 testing and how to manage clients with meningitis.
Participants were provided the basics of AHD components – TB and cryptococcal meningitis – as well as the AHD package of care and eligibility criteria.
With their newly acquired knowledge, the SIAs drawn from several Caritas Nigeria-supported service delivery facilities are expected to identify the different processes involved in common data quality issues, duplicates, missing values, inaccuracies, and inconsistencies with the datasets, including the documentation of all clients on tuberculosis (TB) treatment for proper follow-up.
