Observation of World Toilet Day in Borno

Share:

Caritas Nigeria acting under the Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) initiative in collaboration with the Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC) observed World Toilet Day on Thursday, 19th November 2020 in Borno State.

The event took place in GSS IDP Camp, where Caritas Nigeria WASH focal person, Hassan Yati led the team with over 6000 people for awareness creation and also sensitized the community on the need to constantly use the toilet, so as to achieve zero status of open defecation in the IDP camps.

The event is one of the projects sponsored by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA 2020), to mitigate the numerous challenges faced by vulnerable people, as a result of the activities of insurgents in the North-Eastern part of Nigeria.
