Nutrition Team feeds malnourished children in 6 LGAs in Adamawa, Borno

Caritas Nigeria Nutrition Team under the Norwegian MFA 2020 project,  fed malnourished children in about 6 local government areas in Adamawa and Borno states.

During the exercise, 14 food demonstrations were carried out and about 210 caregivers were trained on health meal preparations, especally the Tom Brown pottage. Altogether, a total of 513 Moderately Acute Malnourished (MAM) children were reached on the “Soya Plus” targetted supplementary feeding programme, while Severely Acute Malnourished (SAM) children were referred to the nearest Outpatient Therapeutic centre within the communities. 

The Nowegian MFA project  tagged ‘Integrated Emergency and Early Recovery Programme for communities affected by insurgency in the North East Nigeria’ is a six-months intervention, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of Norway through Caritas Norway.
