- Today, I have a great joy in my heart; we are celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead.
It is the culmination of the entire pascal event, namely that Jesus broke the chains of death and the underworld and triumphed into victory. His victory over sickness, pain, and death is reason why we are jubilating. It is victory over evil, the triumph of goodness over the forces of darkness. In his victory, is the hope of the world. The world is redeemed through the triumph of Jesus over infirmities of all kinds.
- Because Jesus was able to defeat death, and the intrigue of the men and women of his time, all followers of Jesus were assured of the same victory. No matter the situation of the elect, redemption was certain. The stone at the tomb could not hold him under. He was able to rise contrary to the expectations and wishes of his executioners. Jesus was triumphant. And so would, all those who follow in his footsteps.
- For believing in the resurrection of Jesus, we have been made witnesses to the world. We do not only believe because we were told, but we have experienced in our lives the mystery of the life of Jesus coming from the dead. We are to proclaim this wonder in the midst of the world.
- One great element of the resurrection is the gift of peace. Today more than ever before, the world needs peace. We are living witness to the chaos and conflict in and around us. Our world, our families and even our inner selves cannot thrive in a state of violence and evil. We needed the peace of Christ, to succeed in our time.
- For our organization and our members, we would like to guided by the risen peace of Christ in our programs and activities. We would not be able to survive on our own without the unction from above. Let peace and harmony reign in our hearts and in our offices.
