Following the successful conclusion of the 2024 Staff Retreat of the Agencies of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), on January 10, 2024, Caritas Nigeria staff working in the Administrative Services Unit met in our headquarters to discuss strategies for enhancing the department’s operations. The gathering brought together several staff from across our state offices to brainstorm and acknowledge achievements recorded in the previous year within the department.
The meeting commenced with an open discussion by the Head of the Administrative Services Unit, Barbara Chukwu, on ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Unit. Accordingly, staff engaged in constructive dialogue, sharing insights and proposing innovative ideas to streamline administrative processes, enhance communication channels, and optimize resource utilization.
Staff also had the opportunity to present their challenges and initiatives aimed at addressing specific operational challenges or enhancing service delivery. These presentations provided a platform for creative problem-solving and collaborative brainstorming, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
The meeting culminated in a special recognition and award ceremony, during which certificates of excellence were presented to staff members who had demonstrated exceptional performance, dedication, and innovation. The recipients were acknowledged for their outstanding contributions to the department’s success. The certificates served as a symbol of appreciation and encouragement for their commitment to excellence and their valuable input towards improving departmental operations.
