Empowering Nigerian Adolescents in HIV Management: Caritas’ OTZ Program

Share:

Adolescents and youths are a core part of Caritas Nigeria‘s HIV management in Nigeria. Through the Operation Tripple Zero (OTZ) program, Adolescents Living with HIV (ALHIV) have increased access to HIV care, treatment, and support services across our implementing states of Abia, Enugu, and Imo.
To further stimulate their collective efforts in the campaign against the HIV epidemic, the Caritas Nigeria team implementing the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) and CDC-funded ACCESS project in Imo state organized a quiz and debate session for adolescents and youths currently enrolled on the OTZ program to assess their knowledge of the fight against HIV stigma among adolescents living with HIV.
As a support group, OTZ seeks to ensure that young males and females living with HIV have zero missed appointments, zero missed doses, and zero viral load by creating adequate awareness about the virus and encouraging their peers to overcome treatment barriers, including stigma.
