Distribution of food to 3 selected IDP camps in the FCT

The Catholic Chaplaincy in Rome, supported by The Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, CSN on Friday 5th June 2020 distributed food items to 3 selected IDP camps in the FCT.

The vulnerable IDP camps are located in Wassa, Area 1 and Kuchingoro, all in the FCT. MS Nkese Udongwo, the Caritas Nigeria Director of Humanitarian Services, Nkese Udongwo, representing the Executive Secretary of the organization, Rev. Fr. Uchechukwu Obodoechina, addressed the beneficiaries on behalf of Caritas Nigeria and CSN.

Items distributed to the IDPs include 20 bags of rice, 98 tubers of yams, 1 carton of Tomatoes as well as clothing and a carton of washing soap.

The team also did awareness-creation and sensitization on how to curb the COVID19 pandemic in the IDP camps.

The distribution process was a huge success and different media organizations in Abuja were on ground to cover the event.
