Share:

As part of the 2022 Mothers’ Day celebration, female staff working in all agencies of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) under the aegis of Women in Agencies of CBCN (WiAC) organized an empowerment programme for young girls between the ages of 12 – 25 years at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria.

Led by women-leader and gender activist, Mrs Ochanaya Iyaji-Paul, the goal of the initiative was to raise awareness on how the girl-child can gain confidence in her ability and take care herself.

Speaking at the event, the Catholic Bishop Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) Secretary for Family and Human Life Unit, Rev. Sr. Rosanna Emenusiobi, extolled the qualities of women as career builders, nurturers and good influencers and urged the young girls to remain focused in their areas of endeavour without being deterred by earthly pleasures to attaining their goals.

The programme ended with the distribution of various disposable hygiene products which includes nappies, diaperstoilet paper, wipes, sanitary protection and cloths.
