Caritas Nigeria staff with five other agencies of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria had a 2-day retreat to flag off activities for the New Year.
The annual spiritual ritual which was held on the 6th-7th of January 2022 at St. Gabriel’s Chaplaincy, Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria Abuja, was anchored by His Eminence, John Cardinal Olorunfemi Onaiyekan, the former Archbishop of Abuja Archdiocese.
Cardinal John Onaiyekan, enriched the participants on the rudiments of working in the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria and admonished participants to always follow the will of God in all that they do.
Participants from Caritas Nigeria were drawn from all staff from the head office as well as all the states in the country where the organisation has a presence including Borno, Adamawa and Gombe in the Northeast and Delta, Enugu, Cross River, and Edo in the south.
Addressing staff at the end of the retreat, Caritas Nigeria Executive Secretary/CEO, Rev. Fr. Uchechukwu Obodoechina thanked them for turning out in their numbers for the annual event and advised the new and old staff to be diligent in their various bits while working for the organization
Caritas Nigeria new hires were asked to stay behind for a few days to participate in an orientation program designed specifically for them.
Activities for the new year have since begun in all offices and agencies of the Catholic Secretariat
