Catholic Action Nigeria in collaboration with the Department of Church and Society of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) commenced a two-day policy development workshop on the theme “The Church’s position on the participation of the Laity in Public Life vis-a-viz the social doctrine of the Catholic Church”.
The exercise began today Friday, June 11 with a Holy Mass celebrated by His Eminence John Cardinal Onaiyekan at the St Gabriel Church, of CSN, Durumi, Abuja. The mass witnessed also the inauguration of the Catholic Political and Captains of Industry Stakeholders Forum by His Eminence.
Catholic Action Nigeria is an organized movement in the Catholic Church with a global outreach formulated by Pope Pius X in his Motu Proprio of 18th December 1903 which mandates lay faithful to collaborate with members of the [Church] hierarchy, to bring Christ and the social teachings of the Catholic Church into the greater society.
The Venue of the workshop is the Catholic Resource Centre of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Durumi, Abuja.
