Ahiazu community in Mbaise benefit from free medical outreach

Caritas Nigeria Team on the GRAIL project in Imo State conducted a free medical outreach for the Ahiazu community in Mbaise from 7th to 9th August 2022. The exercise…

which comprised free screening for HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB) tests, Blood pressure checks, and Blood sugar estimation took place at the  St.Jude Catholic church in Ahiazu and was preceded by a health talk by the Caritas Nigeria’s, Motunrayo Adekego focusing on the mode of HIV transmission, prevention, and treatment. 

The GRAIL project partners with parishes and dioceses to increase case findings of adolescents, and pediatrics using an integrated testing approach. 

A total of 133 adults and 59 Pediatrics patients benefited from the exercise with 3 male adults and 2 female (known Positives) identified. No pediatric case was identified.
