By the mandate of the Universal Church, Caritas is “the outreach of the Church to those in need”. This encapsulates all the interventions carried out across the globe by different sub-entities under this global brand.
Caritas Nigeria exercises this mandate by channelling her interventions, projects and activities through six core Thematic Areas namely:
Emergency and Humanitarian Response; Health & HIV; Agriculture & Livelihoods; Good Governance; Institutional Capacity Strengthening (ICS); and, Anti-Human Trafficking & Migration. All six thematic areas pivot around ICS.
Two additional thematic areas, Education and Gender are silent but cross-cutting and are streamlined into all the other six thematic areas making the organization’s programs more robust and fit in all respects.
