Strengthening the Bond Between Social and Economic Well-Being

Share:

In a bid to ensure the social and economic well-being of enrolled beneficiaries in our Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s (OVC) program, and ultimately achieve viral load suppression among people living with HIV in the demographic, our team in Imo State recently organized a 2-day Community of Practice (CoP) for Household Economic Strengthening (HES) officers and program managers from 12 community-based organisations partnering with Caritas Nigeria to deliver family-centered and child-based interventions at the grassroots level.

The meeting aimed to review processes, share the best practices and plan the next steps in implementing an impactful Household Economic Strengthening (HES) intervention that would lead to improved health outcomes for the target group. The program was facilitated by Caritas Nigeria staff from our 3 program states of Abia, Enugu, and Imo, where we are implementing the Accelerated Control of HIV Epidemic and Sustainability Solutions (ACCESS) project. A key upshot of the meeting was an agreement to ensure community practice across the states.
