March 24 is celebrated yearly as World Tuberculosis Day. As a frontline actor in the fight against tuberculosis, Caritas Nigeria joined the world to raise awareness about the infectious disease.
Across Abia, Delta, Enugu, and Imo States, where we have our health and HIV programs, our teams utilized World Tuberculosis Day 2022 marked under the theme, Invest to End TB. Save Lives, to carry out street and marketplace sensitization, enlightening the public on the health implications of tuberculosis and effective measures for preventing new infections.
Likewise, we collaborated with the Enugu State Ministry of Health, assisted by supervisors of the local government tuberculosis program, to carry out free medical check-ups in Aguibeje Community, Enugu Ezike in Igbo-Eze North local government area, as part of the activities to mark the world day.
