September 24 of every year is observed as Caritas Nigeria Day; a day we reflect on our humanitarian strides since our establishment. Over the past twelve (12) years, Caritas Nigeria has sustained a faith-based yet all-inclusive approach to humanitarian situations in Nigeria on behalf of the Catholic Church in Nigeria.
The maiden edition of the event took place this year across our regional offices in Abia, Adamawa, Delta, Edo, Enugu, and Imo states, as well as the Federal Capital Territory. The event kicked off with a Mass of thanksgiving, which was followed closely by a symposium and gallery walk that showcased our interventions in Caritas Nigeria’s thematic areas of focus namely; Agriculture & Livelihoods, Anti-Human Trafficking & Irregular Migration, Emergency Services & Humanitarian Response, Good Governance, Health & HIV/AIDS, and Institutional Capacity Strengthening.
