Assessing Transformations & Impacts: Caritas Nigeria’s Recent Endeavors

Recently, Caritas Nigeria conducted a capacity and needs assessment, (end-line assessment) for the Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan and Catholic Archdiocese of Benin City from 1st through 3rd October, 2023 in Oredo Local Government Area (LGA) of Edo State. With funding support from Catholic Relief Services, the assessment sought to identify the transformations and impacts observed during the third fiscal year of the projects, “Enhancing Food Security through Climate-smart Agriculture” and “Strengthening Voice against Sexual and Gender-based Violence”. The exercise also aimed to scrutinize the strides made in enhancing the capacity and preparedness of the Archdioceses to effectively address the numerous developmental and humanitarian challenges confronting local communities.  

DPro Training in Imo State

A five-day training was organized for Caritas staff in Imo state, to strengthen their capacity in project management through systematic training and accompaniment.

MEAL Regional Assessment and Training

A staff Regional Assessment activity was conducted in the dioceses of Jos, Abuja, Otukpo, Gboko, Markudi, Katsina-ala, Shendam, Lafia, Bauchi, and Jalingo from 6-9 of March 2022 in the field of Monitoing and Evaluation (M & E). 

DPro Training in Yola

Following an organizational assessment conducted among Caritas staff in the northeast and its partners in 2022, several gaps were discovered in their project identification, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation (M&E) and closure capabilities.
