Caritas Nigeria will be marking its 13th anniversary from September 20th to 22nd, 2023 with a series of activities under the theme ‘Mainstreaming Climate-Smart Principles and Practices Among Faith-based Communities in Nigeria’.
The first day (September 20) will feature a Youth and Women Roundtable on the Environment, Climate Change, and Laudato Si as well as a competition among the youth to measure their understanding and vision for a climate-smart family, parish, nation, and the world.
The second day (September 21) will be an international conference on the environment/Laudato Si, featuring scholars, practitioners, and policymakers networking, sharing knowledge, and forging a way forward on the environment in Nigeria. Already a call for abstracts has been sent out for interested persons who will like to present papers at the event.
The final day will be the ‘Caritas Nigeria Day’ celebration on September 22, 2023. On this last day, a number of projects will be launched at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Abuja.
Caritas Nigeria is an agency of the Catholic Church for humanitarian and development interventions. The Caritas Nigeria Day will showcase the organization’s activities as well as flag off new initiatives across the country which are drawn from its seven thematic areas.
