Caritas Nigeria Hosts Strategic Workshop to Strengthen Structure and Sustainability

In a significant milestone for organizational growth and resilience, Caritas Nigeria held its Strategic and Structural Review Workshop at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN), Abuja. The event, which followed the recent celebration of the organization’s 15th anniversary themed “Sustainability in the Face of the Changing Funding Landscape,” brought together key stakeholders, including the Executive Secretary/CEO of Caritas Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Peter Audu, the Country Representative of Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Mr. Akim Kikonda, senior management team members from both Caritas Nigeria and CRS, as well as several unit heads. The workshop was convened to reflect on the current realities of a shifting funding environment and to realign the organizational structure with Caritas Nigeria’s Strategic Plan (2024–2030) in order to improve operational efficiency and service delivery. During his opening remarks, Fr. Peter underscored the need for strategic reflection and adaptation to ensure sustainability, while Mr. Kikonda, in his goodwill message, reaffirmed CRS’s commitment to ongoing partnership and collaboration, recognizing Caritas Nigeria’s pivotal role in advancing humanitarian and development efforts across the country. The session, facilitated by Mr. Anselm Nwoke, CRS Partnership and Capacity Strengthening Coordinator, featured interactive group sessions and robust discussions, which generated practical insights on strengthening institutional structures and enhancing impact. In his closing remarks, Fr. Peter expressed profound gratitude to all participants, particularly the Senior Management Team and staff of Caritas Nigeria, and extended special appreciation to CRS for their unwavering support and collaboration.
