Caritas Nigeria, in collaboration with Zanki Research Center, is excited to announce the publication of its research paper, published on BioMed Central Global and Public Health (BMC), titled: “Implementing AI-enabled chest X-ray for community-based integrated screening for tuberculosis, chronic respiratory diseases, and cardiovascular diseases in Nigeria.
The study shows how the use of AI-enabled portable chest X-ray technology is helping to improve early detection of diseases, strengthen community-based screening, and make healthcare more accessible, especially for underserved communities. It also highlights the importance of strong referral systems and continued care to ensure that people diagnosed through screening receive the support and treatment they need.
This publication reflects Caritas Nigeria’s commitment to using innovative, evidence-based, and people-focused approaches to improve health outcomes for vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities.
