Uniting Voices in Taraba: Standing Against Digital Violence

Caritas Nigeria field office in Taraba State, in collaboration with partner organizations and refugee-led groups, launched the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence today with a road walk across Takum town. The awareness campaign, held as part of the global annual movement, sought to enlighten both refugee and host communities on the urgent need to end digital violence against women and girls, in line with this year’s theme.

The event highlighted various forms of digital abuse, drawing attention to how frequently they occur across social media and online platforms. Representatives of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Holy Family Parish Takum, host community focal persons, refugee leaders, and refugee-led organizations joined the walk, lending their voices to the call for a safer digital space. The Federal Road Safety Corps and the Nigeria Immigration Service also supported the march, ensuring smooth coordination, movement control, and public safety throughout the exercise.
