GRAIL Outreach in Durumi Community

Share:

Caritas Nigeria team under the GRAIL Project on Sunday 4th September 2022 carried out a medical outreach for children under 14 years at St Gabriel’s Catholic Chaplaincy, the community of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Durumi, Abuja.

Over 350 children were attended to and over 150 were given anti-malaria drugs, worm expellant, Blood Tonic, and Soya Plus for malnourished children. None of the children tested positive for HIV/AIDS.

To further promote health and wellness in society, parents (mothers in particular), were encouraged during the exercise to always go for HIV counseling and testing.

GRAIL, acronym for Galvanizing Religious Leaders for Accelerated Identification and Linkage to Pediatric  ART currently in its fourth phase (GRAIL IV) is aimed at engendering early diagnosis and treatment of HIV-positive children.
