The Annual Retreat of staff of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria and CBCN agencies commenced on 7th January, 2026, at the CSN under the theme “Lessons from the Jubilee Year of Hope: Application of Dilexi te in the CSN.” The retreat was facilitated by Most Rev. Gerald Mamman Musa, Bishop of Katsina, who led the first session with reflections on “Dilexi te,” emphasizing God’s love, the dangers of spiritual activism, and the need for a genuine conversion of heart. He encouraged participants to rediscover their purpose and embrace the new year as a gift and opportunity for renewal.
In the second session, Bishop Musa focused on practical ways of applying the encyclical within CBCN agencies, urging staff to replace competition with collaboration, peace, focus, and fulfilment in their daily responsibilities. The retreat also featured the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Rosary, the Divine Mercy Prayer, consultations, and Holy Mass, with over 320 staff members in attendance.
