Caritas Nigeria marked a major milestone, celebrating 16 years of dedicated service to humanity with a joyous Holy Mass of thanksgiving at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria in Abuja. Gathered alongside agencies of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, the management and staff reflected on a decade and a half of transforming lives, uplifting vulnerable populations, and building resilient communities across the nation.
During the service, Secretary General Rev. Fr. Michael Banjo delivered an inspiring homily praising the organization’s steadfast mission. He highlighted Caritas Nigeria’s unwavering commitment to the poor, noting how its humanitarian and development initiatives consistently champion human dignity, compassion, and hope. Following the Mass, staff and partners joined in a special thanksgiving session to honor God’s grace and the profound impact the organization has achieved nationwide since its inception.
Executive Secretary Rev. Fr. Peter Audu delivered a heartfelt address thanking God for His continuous guidance and expressing deep appreciation to the Catholic Bishops Conference, brother priests, partner agencies, and the entire Caritas team for their invaluable support. Closing the celebration, leadership reaffirmed Caritas Nigeria’s core mission to strengthen its service to humanity and extend its reach to even more communities in need, always driven by dignity, compassion, and hope.
