Caritas Nigeria, UNHCR Deepen Humanitarian Collaboration

On 12th November 2025, Mr. Arjun Jain, the Country Representative of UNHCR Nigeria, paid a familiarization visit to the Caritas Nigeria Head Office in Abuja. The purpose of the visit was to strengthen the strategic partnership between Caritas Nigeria and UNHCR Nigeria, with discussions centered on project implementation progress, operational efficiency, and future collaboration.

He was warmly received by Fr. Peter Audu, Executive Secretary/CEO of Caritas Nigeria, alongside members of the Senior Management Team. Fr. Audu expressed appreciation for UNHCR’s support and partnership over the years, acknowledged its commitment to humanitarian work, and reaffirmed Caritas Nigeria’s dedication to advancing shared goals in caring for and empowering vulnerable populations.

During the meeting, Dr. Amana Effiong, Program Director, provided updates on ongoing projects, highlighting key achievements, current challenges, and areas requiring deeper collaboration. He emphasized the importance of joint efforts to ensure efficiency and sustainability in humanitarian interventions.

Mr. Jain commended Caritas Nigeria for its impactful initiatives and reiterated UNHCR Nigeria’s readiness to deepen the partnership. He noted that stronger collaboration would enhance future projects and deliver more effective support for displaced and vulnerable persons across the country.
