In June 2026, Caritas Nigeria, with support from the Citi Foundation, distributed vocational skills starter packs and agricultural inputs to 450 beneficiaries in Adamawa and Bayelsa States, under the Integrative Solutions for Humanitarian Housing Support (ISHHS) Project, aimed at improving livelihoods.
Following stringent and transparent beneficiary selection, verification, and capacity-building activities, participants received livelihood support packages tailored to their chosen vocational skill sect or agricultural focus area. This intervention forms part of the project’s broader economic empowerment efforts to strengthen resilience of households through sustainable income-generating activities and improved agricultural productivity.
During this distribution, 450 beneficiaries (30 men and 270 female farmers) received agricultural inputs to boost food production, while 150 (24 men and 126 women) beneficiaries received starter-packs in Sabon Pegi Community, Yola South LGA of Adamawa State, and Opolo Community, Yenagoa LGA, in Bayelsa State, to enable them to establish or expand their small businesses.
Aside from beneficiaries and the project team, the distribution had in attendance other stakeholders, such as Omoni Linus Diagha, the Community leader of Otuaba in Bayelsa State, who also witnessed the event to ensure transparency and accountability.
