Caritas Nigeria and IHVN Partner to Strengthen Integrated Healthcare

Yesterday, Caritas Nigeria‘s Senior Management Team paid a courtesy visit to the Institute of Human Virology, Nigeria to reaffirm the long-standing partnership between both organizations and explore opportunities for deeper collaboration in integrated healthcare delivery.
The Caritas Nigeria delegation was led by the Executive Secretary/CEO, Rev. Fr Peter Audu, alongside the Chief of Party, Dr. John Oko, Director of TB Services, Dr. Jude A. Ilozumba, and Director of Programs, Dr. Amana Effiong. They were warmly received by the IHVN CEO, Dr. Partick Dakum, accompanied by Dr. Aderonke Abaje, Director of Projects Special, and Dr. Oche Yusuf, Director of the Programme Coordinating Unit.
Speaking during the visit, Fr. Peter expressed appreciation to IHVN for its enduring partnership and reaffirmed Caritas Nigeria’s commitment to expanding collaboration in integrated healthcare delivery. He emphasized that despite the evolving donor funding landscape, Caritas Nigeria remains steadfast in delivering quality, community-based health interventions.
In his remarks, Dr. Patrick Dakum reflected on the strong partnership between IHVN and Caritas Nigeria, which dates back to 2020. He commended Caritas Nigeria for its dedication, describing the organization as a leading faith-based institution delivering quality healthcare services at the community level, particularly in Tuberculosis (TB), HIV, and Maternal and Child Health. He also reaffirmed IHVN’s commitment to strengthening the partnership and identifying new opportunities for collaboration.
The visit concluded with both organizations reaffirming their shared commitment to expanding integrated healthcare services and improving health outcomes for vulnerable communities across Nigeria. The Caritas Nigeria delegation also toured IHVN’s laboratory and genomics facilities, gaining valuable insight into the institute’s advanced diagnostic and research capabilities.
