On July 14, 2026, Caritas Nigeria, in partnership with UNHCR (the UN Refugee Agency), convened a one-day stakeholders’ workshop with the Taraba State Ministry of Education at the Precious Event Centre in Takum, Taraba State. Funded by UNHCR, the collaborative session aimed to drive community engagement, secure government ownership, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the ProFuturo Digital Education Programme.
The workshop gathered a diverse group of key education leaders, including the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, the Director of ICT, and the Honourable Commissioner for Primary and Nursery Education. They were joined by the UNHCR ProFuturo Focal Person, local head teachers, teachers’ representatives, and Caritas Nigeria staff to map out strategic frameworks for the program’s future.
Following the interactive dialogue, the stakeholders conducted on-site monitoring visits to two supported institutions: Rimi II Primary School and Rogo Primary School. During the visits, the delegation observed tech-integrated teaching methods, digital classroom accompaniment, and learner progress tracking systems. Impressed by the visible impact on students, the stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to upgrading school infrastructure to maintain a conducive learning environment and secure the gains of the digital initiative.
