Caritas Nigeria CEO Boosts Staff Engagement in Makurdi Visit

Our Executive Secretary/CEO, Fr. Peter Audu, recently embarked on a strategic three-day working visit to the Caritas Nigeria Makurdi Field Office in Benue State from June 28th to July 2nd. This visit underscored the organization’s ongoing commitment to strengthening field operations, fostering staff engagement, and enhancing the delivery of critical humanitarian programmes to vulnerable communities.

The central highlight of his visit was a productive Town Hall Meeting, where the field team presented progress updates on major interventions. These included crucial projects focused on Protection, Shelter, the National Humanitarian Fund, and the Support for Internally Displaced Persons in Nigeria (SIDPIN)—a vital initiative funded by the UNHCR. This forum provided an opportunity for in-depth discussions on project achievements, lessons learned, and implementation challenges, enabling leadership and staff to co-create practical strategies for deepening humanitarian impact across Benue State.

Impressed by these insights, Fr. Peter Audu warmly commended the team’s dedication and reaffirmed Management’s unwavering commitment to supporting staff on the ground. He emphasized that the organization will continue to champion teamwork, accountability, innovation, and excellence in all areas of service delivery.

Beyond formal project reviews, the visit was enriched by one-on-one staff engagements, shared spiritual activities, and vibrant cultural displays. To mark the occasion and express their deep appreciation for his leadership, the Makurdi Field Office honored the Executive Secretary with a traditional Tiv chasuble and girdle. This presentation beautifully capped a successful visit, leaving both Management and staff fully re-energized and unified in their mission to advance Caritas Nigeria’s humanitarian work.
