Deepening Strategic Partnership to Advance Digital Health and Community-Based Healthcare Delivery

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen health systems and expand access to quality healthcare in Nigeria, Caritas Nigeria hosted a high-level closed-door meeting last week with Mr. Manoj Prabhu, Regional Head for Strategic Business Partnerships, following earlier engagements held in Switzerland on the sidelines of the 79th World Health Assembly.

The meeting brought together the Executive Secretary of Caritas Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Peter Audu, Dr. Jude Ilozumba, Director of TB Services, and Chidimma Okoye, Technical Lead for the Global Fund TB Project. The strategic discussion focused on exploring opportunities for deeper collaboration and identifying innovative pathways to enhance health interventions across the country.

During the meeting, Caritas Nigeria presented an overview of its health and development programmes, highlighting key achievements, existing challenges, and emerging opportunities for greater impact. Discussions examined how digital health solutions can be effectively integrated across programme areas to improve service delivery, strengthen data management and utilization, enhance monitoring systems, and support evidence-based decision-making.

The engagement also explored avenues for technical support in resource mobilization, digital innovation, and monitoring frameworks. Participants discussed strategies for strengthening community-based disease surveillance, improving health emergency preparedness, and enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of health programmes.

The meeting underscored a shared commitment to leveraging innovation, strategic partnerships, and technology-driven solutions to improve health outcomes and strengthen healthcare delivery for communities across Nigeria.
