International Conference Celebrates Monsignor Obiora Ike and CIDJAP Milestones

Recently, in Enugu, scholars, clergy, and development practitioners convened for an International Conference to commemorate the 70th birthday of Prof. Monsignor Obiora Ike and the 40th anniversary of the Catholic Institute of Development, Justice, and Peace (CIDJAP). The two-day event, centered on the theme “Ethical Education, Socio-Economic and Political Inclusion, and Inter-Religious Harmony in Africa,” provided a professional platform to reflect on pathways for fostering inclusive development and strengthening ethical leadership across the continent.

Led by dignitaries including Executive Secretary/CEO Fr. Peter Audu, participants explored strategies for promoting peaceful coexistence and reaffirmed the institutional legacy of Msgr. Ike. The gathering served to strengthen the shared values of human dignity, justice, and peace held by both CIDJAP and Caritas Nigeria, emphasizing a continued commitment to sustainable social progress throughout diverse African communities.
