Caritas Nigeria, Germany Strengthen Partnership for Humanitarian Impact

Caritas Nigeria, in February 2026, held a strategic partnership meeting with Caritas Germany to reinforce collaboration and deepen mutual accountability in addressing humanitarian challenges across Nigeria.

The meeting, which brought together key representatives of both organizations, focused on strengthening institutional cooperation, enhancing program effectiveness, and advancing their shared mission of serving vulnerable communities across the country.

During the engagement, Caritas Nigeria formally welcomed Kim Kerkhof as the new Desk Officer responsible for Nigeria, succeeding Lukas Maximilian Müller. The transition marks a renewed phase in the long-standing partnership between the two organizations.

Speaking on behalf of the Executive Secretary/CEO, Fr. Peter Audu, and the Senior Management Team, Mr. Gregory Atogbon, Head of Finance at Caritas Nigeria, expressed profound appreciation to Lukas Maximilian Müller for his significant contributions toward mitigating humanitarian crises in Nigeria. He commended his dedication and impact throughout his tenure and wished him continued success in his new assignment.

Dr. Michael Ibe, Lead of the Institutional Capacity Strengthening Unit at Caritas Nigeria, also acknowledged Müller’s pragmatic leadership and extensive expertise, noting that his efforts substantially strengthened institutional systems and improved partnership effectiveness. He further appreciated Leeza Joseph, Country Representative for Caritas Germany, for her sustained support and coordination in advancing joint initiatives.

Caritas Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining a strong, transparent, and results-driven partnership with Caritas Germany. The organization expressed optimism about working closely with Kim Kerkhof to further consolidate shared efforts in delivering humanitarian assistance and promoting human dignity across Nigeria.
