On 16 December 2025, the Youth for Women Empowerment and Education Initiative in Nigeria (YWEEIN) honoured the Executive Secretary/CEO of Caritas Nigeria, Fr. Peter Audu, with a Leadership Award of Excellence and a Certificate of Commitment.
The recognition, which took place in Nigeria, was presented by YWEEIN’s National Coordinator, Ambassador Ibrahim Ibrahim, who highlighted the “who” and “how” of the event. He stated that Fr. Audu was chosen because of his exceptional leadership style, integrity, and outstanding service to humanity.
The award also reflects “why” Fr. Audu stands out: he has demonstrated unwavering dedication to women’s empowerment, gender equality, social justice, and inclusive development, especially through Caritas Nigeria’s programmes. These efforts continue to create measurable, positive impact for vulnerable women and communities across the country.
This ceremony underscores the “what” it represents: national appreciation for a leader whose commitment to development continues to inspire confidence and shape a more inclusive future for Nigerian women.
