Caritas Lagos Intensifies 16 Days of Activism Outreach

This week, Caritas Nigeria in Lagos State, led by Sr. Emmanuella Anuebu, the Accountability Focal Person, expanded its campaign to end violence against women. As part of the ongoing 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, the team sensitized students and community groups on the effects of GBV and practical prevention strategies.

The outreach, which took place at Divine Infant Jesus Secondary School in Badagry, SkyBlue College, Evarest Crest College in Ikorodu, and among the youths and women of Hoke Daho and Erekiti communities in Badagry, sought to deepen public understanding of GBV and strengthen resistance against harmful norms.

The team also held a Mass and candlelight session in solidarity with victims and survivors of GBV, reinforcing the spiritual and communal commitment to ending violence.

Through education, awareness creation, and community engagement, Caritas Nigeria aims to address the root causes of violence, promote gender equality, and reduce vulnerabilities across communities.
