On 5th November, Caritas Nigeria held its Central Program Coordination Meeting in Abuja, bringing together staff from state and regional offices who joined virtually. The session aimed to strengthen organizational operations in line with the Caritas Nigeria Strategic Plan.
In his opening remarks, the Executive Secretary/CEO, Rev. Fr. Peter Audu, underscored the importance of accountability, teamwork, and shared commitment, urging all departments to collaborate toward achieving measurable results.
Also in attendance, Dr. John Oko, Chief of Party, alongside members of the Senior Management Team, provided strategic guidance and emphasized the need for all staff to internalize the Strategic Plan and translate it into actionable steps. He introduced the Monitoring and Evaluation Strategic Orientation Strategies and encouraged cross-learning among program areas to promote synergy.
Staff presentations highlighted how ongoing initiatives align with the organization’s Strategic Plan, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Catholic Social Teaching—all focused on promoting the fullness of life. During interactive discussions, participants addressed emerging challenges such as reduced donor funding and proposed solutions, including improving organizational visibility, strengthening partnerships, and exploring alternative investment opportunities.
