Empowering Vulnerable Communities in Northeast Nigeria: Caritas Nigeria’s CHEERS Project

Share:

Given the exponential number and needs of vulnerable persons in Northeast Nigeria, Caritas Nigeria working closely with JDPC Maiduguri is partnering with the Utenriksdepartementet (Norge) through Caritas Norge to implement the Comprehensive Humanitarian Emergency Response and Economic Recovery for Sustainable Livelihoods in Nigeria (CHEERS) project.
The intervention seeks to improve the living conditions of target populations while also building their resilience in the face of the biting economic hardship of the vulnerable individuals in Adamawa and Borno States.
In line with the project goal, forty (40) persons were selected from Michika and Madagali Local Government Areas and from Bama, and Gwoza Local Government Areas of Adamawa and Borno States respectively, and trained on 16 September 2023 on data collection and how to save lives and protect human dignity in their various communities.
