Reintegration Assistance to Nigerian Migrants from Belgium

Caritas Nigeria is currently in partnership with Caritas Belgium to provide reintegration support to Nigerians who have voluntarily returned from Belgium. 

Activities: Joint pre-arrival counselling, medical support, temporary housing/shelter services, mental health and psychosocial counselling support, training, and business start-up and monitoring for 1 year.

Caritas Nigeria is currently implementing Child Protection and AHT Assistance to Cameroonian Refugee projects, Refugee Response and Protection and Return Monitoring projects in Adamawa, Borno, Cross River, Edo, and Yobe States. The main focus areas of the projects are in the area of gender-based violence (GBV), child protection, refugee responses, support for persons with specific needs (PSN), access to justice; detention and border monitoring; community system strengthening, human trafficking prevention, and provision of mental health and psychosocial support

Through the UNHCR-funded program, we seek to promote, across all the implementation locations, basic human rights by employing the following skills and strategies in the implementation of the project: capacity building for stakeholders, advocacies, case management, legal representation, protection monitoring, awareness creation, facilitate linkages and referrals between service providers and the people we serve.
