National Training of Trainers (ToT) Workshop for The Catholic Health Services

A three-day national training-of-trainers (ToT) workshop for the Catholic Health Services was held at the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria (CSN) Resource/Conference Centre, Abuja from 7th to 9th of May 2020.

Dr. Emmanuel Okechukwu, the Health Secretary of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, CSN welcomed the participants and specifically introduced Rev. Fr. Uchechukwu Obodoechina, the Executive Secretary/CEO of Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria.

The NCDC Facilitators were led by the Infection Prevention/Control Pillar Team, Dr. Tochi Okwor who expressed delight at the collaboration with the Catholic Health Service and the potential of their establishment to reach the large numbers of frontline health workers at their remote locations across Nigeria.

The theme of each day was presented with engagement by the participants through questions and perspective/training content. Effective facilitation techniques, Basics of COVID-19, National Response strategy were some of the topics of the workshop.

At the end of the presentations, feedback was elicited from the participants who attended the ToT via Zoom.

A total of 42 persons attended the training workshop, 23 persons participated physically, while 19 joined the sessions via Zoom meeting platform from different locations.
