Share:

As part of strengthening the capacity of the Caritas Nigeria Delta State ART Surge Team in the 4GATES project, CDC NIGERIA facilitated a 5-day residential training on Index Testing and Risk Stratification for two sets of frontline facility staff in the state from the 3rd to 7th February 2020.

The training which took place at Top Rank Hotel in Asaba, Delta State, provided participants the opportunity to learn a lot and to gain key information to support the ART SURGE Response in the state.

Index testing refers to the identification of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) for the elicitation of sexual contacts from a known HIV positive Client. Like anything involving sensitive issues, the process of carrying out index testing requires skill, empathy and a wide knowledge base.
