With the commencement of FY24 in October 2023, it was expedient for the units to discuss mechanisms for meeting project goals in the second year of the comprehensive HIV prevention, care, and treatment intervention funded by The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through CDC, while also addressing some challenges encountered in Year 1, including the delayed arrival of products due to government policies/processes, with a view to enhancing patient outcomes.
The Leads of Caritas Nigeria’s Pharmacy & Supply Chain Management (PSCM) and Laboratory Services Units, together with their counterparts from other CDC implementing partner (IP) organisations, are currently meeting in our country office in Abuja, to reflect on the program areas’ performances, share lessons lessoned in Financial Year 2023 (FY23), and drive improvements.
The week-long meeting, which began on 23rd October, has in attendance PSCM and Laboratory Services Unit Leads from our ACCESS project states of Abia, Enugu, and Imo, and staff of Ecews Nigeria, FHI 360, and Phis3project. The participants are also engaged in a hands-on community management training by U.S. CDC Nigeria and Public Health Information, Surveillance, Solutions and Systems (PHIS3), to enable them to continue to ensure the delivery of high-quality and patient-centered healthcare services.
