Fr. Peter Babangida Audu is a highly accomplished leader and development professional with over 30 years of experience in pastoral work, social development, and advocacy for children’s and women’s rights. Currently serving as the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (Caritas Nigeria), he plays a pivotal role in overseeing the projects, management team, and staff members of the Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria (Caritas Nigeria), strengthening the institutional capacity of diocesan structures, Justice Development & Peace Commissions (JDPC), and other partners across Nigeria. His work focuses on fostering sustainable social norms, peacebuilding, conflict resolution, addressing social justice, and overall, promoting integral human development.
Fr. Audu’s vast expertise spans community development, prison apostolate, school administration, and social work. His experience is demonstrated by notable successes in designing and implementing interventions that promote the rights of vulnerable and marginalized groups, particularly women and children. His leadership has been instrumental in advancing improved healthcare access, good governance initiatives, election observation, and participatory governance through his previous roles, including National Secretary of JDPC.
With a Master’s in Peace and Justice Studies from the Missionary Institute London, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Certificate in Programme Management from MDF Netherlands, and certificate in Leadership from Harvard University, Fr. Audu fuses academic precision with practical experience. His core competencies include corporate governance, leadership, stakeholder engagement, advocacy, resource mobilization, and gender inclusion, making him a key driver for positive social progress.
