To help the children achieve the future they desire through education, Caritas Nigeria, in partnership with the People’s Health and Economic Development Centre (PHEDEC), procured and handed over seven (7) classroom desks for the pupils of Obizi High School in Ezinihitte Community, Mbaise local government area (LGA) of Imo state, as part of our Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s (OVC) intervention.
With funding support from The U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) through the CDC, our team implementing the Accelerated Control of HIV Epidemic and Sustainability Solutions (ACCESS) project in the state had earlier conducted a needs assessment in the school where children sat on classroom floors and window edges to receive lessons due to a lack of chairs and desks.
