Last week, our team implementing the INTEGRATE TB Project carried out medical outreaches in some communities in Ebonyi State namely; Nkalah, Onuenyim, Agbaja, Nwofe Market Square, Ndufu Amagu, Ohatekwe Amagu in Ikwo, Izzi, and Ishielu local government areas.
Using an artificial intelligence-enabled mobile x-ray device, the Caritas Nigeria medical team screened hundreds of students, children, and the elderly for tuberculosis, cardiovascular diseases, and chronic illnesses. While clients with cardiovascular conditions were referred to a cardiologist for prompt treatment, other attendees were encouraged to do routine health checks.
