Dr. Godwin Ukel has been a pivotal member of Caritas Nigeria since October 2012, serving as the Director of Internal Audit. With an impressive academic background that includes an HND, MSc, and PhD, Dr. Ukel specializes in Accountancy and Forensics.

As the head of the Internal Audit Unit, Dr. Ukel oversees operations across both the headquarters and state offices. He was instrumental in establishing the unit’s structure and developing key documents such as the Internal Audit Charter and Policies. His advocacy for visibility auditing led to the engagement of Resident Auditors for the ACCESS project.

Dr. Ukel is a professionally certified Accountant, Forensic Investigation Professional, and Forensic Psychologist, specializing in white-collar crime investigations. He is a member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Investigators of Nigeria (CIFCFIN), Internal Auditors Association (IIA), Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria (ICPAN), Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Institute of Public Accountants of Australia (IPA), Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), and Chartered Institute of Administration of Nigeria (CIA).
