Our Executive Secretary/CEO, Fr. Peter Babangida Audu, participated in the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) Plenary Assembly held in Osogbo, Osun State, from 10 to 18 September 2026. The plenary was themed “Faith in Action: Empowering the Catholic Laity for Active Political Participation Ahead of the 2027 General Elections.”
During the gathering, Fr. Audu presented an overview of Caritas Nigeria’s key activities, achievements, and impact over the past seven months. He reported that the organization had reached 743,287 beneficiaries through its various humanitarian, development, governance, health, and social intervention programmes across the country.
He also reaffirmed Caritas Nigeria’s commitment to serving vulnerable communities and promoting human dignity through faith-inspired action. Through the continued support of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria, dedicated staff, and valued partners, Caritas Nigeria remains steadfast in its mission to bring hope, strengthen resilience, and improve the lives of those most in need.
