Addressing HIV Stigma and Promoting Collective Response in Imo State

Share:

Joining forces with the Imo State Ministry of Health, Imo State Agency for the Control of AIDS, CRS Nigeria, and Ecews Nigeria, our team in Imo State sensitized residents on the significance of the annual World AIDS Day event through a rally.
The activity, which was led by the State Commissioner of Health, Dr. Success Prosper Ohayagha, aimed to show support for those living with HIV, increase awareness about the virus, address HIV-related stigma, and call for improved collective response towards ending the pandemic.
Similarly, using radio for mass sensitisation, our team provided valuable information about the transmission, prevention, care, support, and treatment of HIV. Also, HIV testing services were provided for adolescents and young people within the outreach location.
In addition, a Mass was celebrated in our state field office for those who died from AIDS, for people living with HIV, and for communities actively involved in the fight to end AIDS.
